Andrew Zimmern on How to Be A Perfect Dinner Party Guest: Hosting a great dinner party takes a lot of work, but being a great dinner party guest isn’t always a walk in the park, either. Andrew Zimmern, host and creator of the Travel Channel show “Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern,” has been a guest at the homes of kings and queens, tribal chiefs, and average American families all in the name of television. So it’s safe to say he knows a thing or two about how to behave when invited somewhere for dinner. His first piece of advice? Be a good listener, which, he says, hinges on asking good questions. “Look for ways to connect—walk around your host’s living room and ask them about the tchotchkes they have.” Bonus points if you can incorporate Yiddish words like “tchotchkes” into your witty banter as you sit around the table.
