Dinner with Ferran Adrià? It’ll Cost You at Least $5,000: Ferran Adrià, the mega-star chef behind the late, great Spanish restaurant elBulli, is the most interesting dinner guest in the world. At least, we’re assuming he has to be, considering that Sotheby’s is auctioning off a dinner with him to the highest bidder, starting at $5,000. The auction house is also accepting bids on over 8,800 bottles of wine from elBulli’s wine cellar, a package that is expected to sell for over $1,000,000. The restaurant closed in 2011, and will reopen in 2014 as a culinary center; all proceeds from both the dinner and wine sale will go towards the restaurant’s new incarnation.
