Maker’s Mark Will Not Water Down Whiskey After All: A couple of weeks ago, Maker’s Mark announced that due to increasing demand for its whiskey, the distillery would begin watering the spirit down and bottling it at 84 proof instead of the traditional 90. The decision was met with immediate outcry from the company’s whiskey-drinking disciples, causing the CEO, Bill Samuels Jr., to issue a statement saying he had listened to the dissent and would keep the drink at its original strength. Looks like Maker’s Mark has made its mark.
