How Valentine’s Day Looks From a Restaurant Chef’s Perspective: Steve Johnson, chef-owner of the popular date-night restaurant Rendezvous in Cambridge, MA, has seen his fair share of Valentine’s Days from behind the stove. The Boston Globe interviewed him about his thoughts on the holiday, and he’s got a lot to say: For example, his favorite tables to watch are the tables of three, because the dynamic is often the most intriguing. Johnson also tells the Globe that the amount of people calling Rendezvous with desperate, last-minute reservation requests “makes me chuckle a little bit, on one hand, because it always happens every year, a lot, but then on the other hand, I’m a really sympathetic guy, so I’m like, ‘I wish I could help you out, bro.’”
