Chinese Obesity Rates Rising: A long history of food traditions is not, apparently, enough to stop China from catching the obesity epidemic that has become a problem in developed countries all over the world. And a medical study from 2010 estimated that 9.7% of China’s population now has diabetes, a disease that goes hand-in-hand with obesity. Here’s hoping that the traditional, healthy diet can win out over the influx of Western fast foods and the Chinese’s increasingly unhealthy eating habits.
