Inaugural Lunch: A Feast Fit for a President: Even if you’re in DC today, chances are you weren’t invited to the inaugural lunch (especially if you’re sitting at your computer reading this). But that doesn’t mean you have to be kept in the culinary dark: The menu has been released for public (virtual) consumption. Members of Congress from both sides of the aisle will be in attendance, which is good news for the nation, because if there’s anything that can foster bi-partisanship, it’s hickory-grilled bison and steamed lobster. Matt House, press secretary for the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, says of the luncheon, “It’s a unique atmosphere you see only once every four years—Democrats and Republicans from all branches eating together in the same place. It’s really a celebration.”
