You Can Only Go to Mars If You’re a Vegetarian: Earth to vegetarians: Elon Musk, the co-founder of PayPal and current CEO of Tesla Motors, has decided he’s going to start a “space settlement” in the next ten years, and he’s invited up to 80,000 would-be-Martians to accompany him. There are only two catches: You must pay $500,000 and you must be a vegetarian. Why the no-meat clause? Because Musk wants his colony to be sustainable–he’s planning a greenhouse for farming that would run on liquid oxygen and methane, but there will be no slaughterhouse. Bacon lovers, stay on earth.
