“World’s Best Beer” Now Being Sold in America–But Not For Long: Westvleteren XII is often hailed as the best beer in the world. And until this week, the Trappist monks who brew it only sold it through hard-to-get reservations. But opening it up to the American market is a financial necessity: After a round of expensive renovations to their monastery, the monks at the abbey of Saint Sixtus have decided to sell the beer elsewhere for a very limited time.
