Landmark Japanese Fish Market to Close in 2014: Tokyo’s Tsukiji fish market has been an attraction for locals and tourists for the last 78 years. But the Japanese government just announced the end of the world’s largest wholesale fish market: In 2014, it will be replaced by a new seafood market that’s 40 percent bigger and bound to have much less character.
