Newark Mayor’s Food Stamps Diet: Mayor Cory Booker is currently on the sixth day of his week-long challenge to survive on food stamps—which figures to less than $30 worth of food per week—in an effort to raise awareness for the 850,000 New Jerseyans who use them. And it hasn’t been easy: So far, the politician’s menu has included a can of black beans and a blackened sweet potato (which he inadvertently overcooked).
