Green Applebee’s to Open in Harlem: A chain restaurant in Harlem is opening with some major eco-friendly street cred. The neighborhood’s new Applebee’s will feature rooftop rainwater harvesting, waterless urinals, and a “living wall” constructed almost entirely of plants. It will be the first in the city to receive a gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification from the Green Building Council.
