Massachusetts Food Pantries Serving Chicken This Thanksgiving: In response to this year’s high turkey prices and increased demand for food assistance, many Massachusetts food pantries are serving chicken instead of the traditional turkey. With the money it’s saving, one pantry is able to increase the number of items it gives every family from 12 to 15, while another food bank will give turkey to the 700 families who signed up in advance while another 275 will receive chickens.
