NYC Food Trucks Provide Aid in Hurricane Sandy Aftermath: Sure, food trucks are trendy and hip. But the post-Hurricane Sandy disaster relief effort has highlighted their more serious—and functional—side. Dozens of trucks survived the storm in New York City, where they’ve begun feeding needy citizens in neighborhoods where most of the restaurants have been wiped out.
