Sacrebleu! French Brewers May Get Hit by 160% Rise in Beer Tax: France was hit hard by the recent economic crisis. Now, as a measure to help recover from it, French politicians are pushing legislation to increase taxes on beer by 160%. Brewers estimate the change will increase beer prices by about 20% in bars and supermarkets.
